India is poised to become a global leader in health and wellness, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisioning a future where “Heal in India” resonates as strongly as “Make in India.” On Sunday, PM Modi laid the foundation for the Central Ayurveda Research Institute in Rohini, Delhi, marking a significant milestone in advancing traditional Indian medicine systems like Ayurveda and AYUSH.
A State-of-the-Art Facility for Ayurveda
The upcoming facility spans 2.92 acres and represents an investment of Rs 187 crore. It will house a 100-bed hospital, focusing on advancing Ayurveda research and delivering quality healthcare to people. PM Modi emphasized that the government is committed to making healthcare accessible to all, including the poorest.
This new institute is not just a building—it symbolizes “Ayurveda’s next big leap,” as PM Modi put it. By combining research with healthcare delivery, the facility aims to strengthen Ayurveda’s global standing and bring its benefits to millions.
Global Expansion of AYUSH
Over the past decade, India’s AYUSH system has grown exponentially, and it is now recognized in more than 100 countries. In a landmark move, the first WHO institution dedicated to traditional medicine is being established in India, further solidifying the nation’s leadership in this domain.
To make AYUSH treatments more accessible to international patients, the government has also introduced a special AYUSH visa facility, which has already benefited hundreds of foreign nationals seeking holistic healthcare in India.
Driving Research and Quality Care
Union Minister of State for AYUSH, lauded the new facility, highlighting its role in driving forward research and quality healthcare. This initiative complements the recent inauguration of the second phase of the All India Institute of Ayurveda, underscoring the government’s focus on elevating traditional medicine.
“Heal in India”: A Global Vision
PM Modi reiterated India’s potential to become the health and wellness capital of the world. With initiatives like the Central Ayurveda Research Institute, the country is set to lead the charge in traditional medicine. The introduction of special visas for foreign citizens, coupled with research-driven facilities, aligns with the vision of making India the ultimate destination for holistic healing.
