PGI Introduces QR Code System for Patient Feedback and Complaints

In a big step toward improving patient experience and feedback, the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI), Chandigarh, is launching a QR code-based complaint and feedback system. This digital initiative will make it easier for patients to share their concerns, offer suggestions, or report sensitive issues like sexual harassment, all with just a quick scan of a QR code.

Why This Matters

Currently, PGI uses a physical grievance book for complaints. However, handling feedback manually often leads to delays and inefficiencies. The new QR code system is expected to speed up the process and ensure that feedback reaches the right department instantly.

How the QR Code System Works

  • Scan the QR Code: Patients can find QR codes displayed in wards, OPDs, and common areas.
  • Access the Online Form: Scanning the code will take them to an online feedback platform.
  • Submit Feedback or Complaints: Patients can submit their concerns directly through the online form.
  • Instant Notification: The feedback will be forwarded instantly to the relevant department heads, ensuring quicker responses and resolutions.

Why Is This an Improvement?

  • No need to queue: Patients can submit feedback at their convenience, without waiting at a counter.
  • Immediate response: Feedback and complaints will be directed to the appropriate departments right away.
  • Improved efficiency: Reduces delays associated with physical forms and meetings.

Addressing Potential Challenges

While similar QR code systems have been introduced in other hospitals like Command Hospital, they faced technical issues, such as non-functional QR codes. PGI plans to address these challenges by ensuring that the QR codes work reliably and that the system is regularly maintained.

A Step Towards Better Patient Care

This initiative reflects PGI’s commitment to patient-centric care. By simplifying the feedback process, the hospital hopes to resolve patient concerns faster and improve healthcare services.

How You Can Help

If you are a patient or visitor at PGI, keep an eye out for these QR code stickers. Scan and share your feedback—your input will help the hospital improve and deliver better care.

Let’s work together to create a more responsive, patient-friendly healthcare system!
