Mahajan Imaging & Labs and Neuberg Diagnostics have entered into a strategic joint venture to develop an integrated diagnostics platform across seven North Indian states.
The partnership brings together Mahajan Imaging’s expertise in radiology, nuclear medicine and advanced imaging with Neuberg’s capabilities in pathology, genomics, molecular diagnostics and laboratory operations. The venture will operate under the Mahajan Imaging & Neuberg Labs brand, subject to regulatory approvals and required licences.
Bringing Multiple Diagnostic Services Together
The central idea behind the partnership is to create a more connected diagnostic ecosystem.
Instead of treating imaging, pathology, genomics and molecular testing as separate services, the joint venture plans to bring them together on a common platform. This could allow doctors and patients to access a wider range of diagnostic information through an integrated system.
The platform is expected to cover pathology, advanced imaging, nuclear medicine, genomics and molecular diagnostics, supporting the industry’s shift toward preventive, predictive and personalised healthcare.
Seven States in Focus
The joint venture will initially focus on Delhi NCR and surrounding markets, before expanding into major cities across North India over the next 18 months.
The seven state territory represents approximately 40% of India’s population, according to the companies. The expansion strategy will combine hub laboratories, collection centres, advanced imaging facilities and referral networks.
Pathology services can be expanded relatively quickly through laboratory and collection networks, while radiology expansion is expected to progress more gradually because advanced imaging requires significant infrastructure and technology investments.
Centres of Excellence for Advanced Diagnostics
A key part of the expansion strategy will be the development of Centres of Excellence focused on specialised diagnostic fields.
Planned areas include molecular pathology, genomics, renal pathology, cytogenetics and transplant immunology. The partnership also plans to establish a full scale genomics laboratory in Delhi and specialised capabilities such as electron microscopy based renal biopsy evaluation.
This approach aims to move diagnostics beyond routine testing toward more specialised clinical interpretation and precision healthcare.
Diagnostics Moves Toward Prevention

Diagnostics is increasingly moving from simply confirming an existing disease toward identifying risk, disease predisposition and early warning signals.
