Amazon Launches Full-Stack Healthcare with At-Home Diagnostics in India

Amazon India has taken a big leap in healthcare by launching Amazon Diagnostics, a new at-home lab testing service. This marks the completion of its full-stack healthcare offering under Amazon Medical, which already includes Amazon Pharmacy for medicine delivery and Amazon Clinic for virtual doctor consultations.

With this launch on June 22, 2025, customers in Bengaluru, Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai, and Hyderabad can now book over 800 diagnostic tests through the Amazon app. The service offers doorstep sample collection within 60 minutes and digital reports in as little as 6 hours—all available from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.

Category Leader at Amazon India shared that this new diagnostic feature helps connect doctor consultations and medicine delivery with testing, creating a connected outpatient journey—all in one app.

Why It Matters

Amazon’s entry into the diagnostics space is significant in a country like India, where access to quality healthcare services in a seamless digital format is still developing. With trusted logistics, wide reach, and tech-enabled features, Amazon Medical could offer a convenient and affordable healthcare solution to millions.

This move puts Amazon in direct competition with established players like Tata 1mg, Practo, and PharmEasy, but Amazon believes its integrated ecosystem and focus on user experience will help it stand out.

What’s Included in Amazon Medical?

  • Amazon Pharmacy: Doorstep delivery of prescription medicines and health products across India.
  • Amazon Clinic: Online doctor consultations starting at ₹299 across specializations.
  • Amazon Diagnostics: Book lab tests and get reports digitally at home.

Amazon says it receives many orders even from Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns, showing strong demand across urban and semi-urban India. The platform also offers features like auto-refill, subscriptions, and discounts for Prime members.
