Delhi has taken a major step towards creating a fully digital healthcare ecosystem with the launch of the next-generation Hospital Information Management System (HIMS). Unveiled by the Chief Minister in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, this system aims to make city-wide healthcare paperless, transparent, and efficient.
🌟 What Is the New HIMS Platform?
The advanced Hospital Information Management System integrates 20 digital modules that connect government hospitals, doctors, and patients on a single digital network.
Key modules include:
- OPD/IPD registration
- Electronic medical records (EMR)
- Diagnostics and lab results
- Pharmacy and inventory management
- Real-time dashboards for hospital administration
“This system will connect hospitals, doctors, and patients on a single digital platform, ensuring transparency and efficiency,” said the CM of Delhi during the launch.
📊 Digital Health Records for All
Delhi has already created over 93 lakh Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) IDs, which will support seamless digital health records and streamline care delivery across the state. This initiative aligns with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission, aiming for universal access to connected healthcare.
🏥 Expansion of Primary and Affordable Care
Along with HIMS, the CM also inaugurated:
- 34 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs – Community health centers offering primary care, maternal and child services, immunization, wellness counseling, and yoga.
- 8 new Jan Aushadhi Kendras – Pharmacies providing affordable medicines to citizens.
In just one month, 68 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs have been made operational, highlighting the government’s commitment to accessible, community-based healthcare.

- Book appointments online
- Access lab results digitally
- Request ambulance services
- Maintain a unified electronic health record (EHR)
